Partial solar eclipse on, Kampalans unaware orbital movements

Must read

Kampala city is experiencing a partial solar eclipse expected to last four hours, but several people are unaware of the development.

The eclipse that began at around 11am has seen the morning in Kampala have an ashy brown hue, with many Kampalans unaware the moon had come between the sun and the earth.

According to Wikipedia there are four kinds of solar eclipses: total, annular, hybrid and partial, the latter that eclipsed Kampala and other East African cities today.

Solar eclipses can only occur during a new Moon, when the Moon moves between the Earth and the Sun and the three celestial bodies form a straight line: Earth – Moon – Sun.
