Comedian John Mbuuse popularly known as Kapere is officially off the shelf after walking his longtime fiancé, Lydia Nabirye, down the aisle.
Mocked as the ugliest man in Uganda, this did not deter Babirye from accepting Amarula Family’s Kapere as her lifetime soulmate, and she said “I do” today at a mass wedding where 280 couples were joined in matrimony today at ‘Pastor’ Robert Kayanja’s Church.
Kapere and Nabirye have been together for over four years. Originally scheduled for last year, Kapere has had to wait for over a year for the wedding to happen thanks to the 77Dogs that fully contributed towards the wedding in appreciation for his joining Kayanja’s church.
Kapere visited Nabirye’s parents in 2015 as part of the wedding rituals but the wedding couldn’t kick off because the comedian was broke.
This angered Nabirye that she briefly left his home, accusing him of failing ‘to buy meat’ at home while Kapere counter accused her of aborting his child.
However, Nabirye claimed the child had been lost through a miscarriage.
Fortunately, the couple was last year blessed with a son who is about a year now.
