Real Madrid aim for 12th European Cup

Real Madrid will be looking to become the first team in Champions League history to win back-to-back titles when they take on the Italian giants Juventus in the final on Saturday June 3.

Juventus will be looking to secure a treble after winning the Serie A and Coppa Itallia, only to become the ninth team to achieve the treble of league, domestic cup and European titles, while Real Madrid has its eyes on a double after winning La Liga.

Juventus, the Serie A champions suffered the heartbreak of a final defeat to Barcelona two years ago in Berlin and last won the competition in 1996 under Marcello Lippi after beating Ajax 4-2 on penalties.

Real Madrid and Juventus have met once previously for the European title, with Madrid prevailing, 1-0 in 1998.

Real Madrid are looking forward to land their 12th European Cup and Juventus their 3rd in history.

Both the finalists have met a total of 18 times, with each side winning 8 and drawing 2 matches.

With Dani Carvajal and Gareth Bale now back in full training, Real Madrid Manager Zinedine Zidane has a full squad to choose from.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri also has a fully-fit squad to choose from.

The referee will be Felix Brych from Germany, with assistants Mark Borsch and Stefan Lupp and fourth official Milorad Mažić.

The 2017 Champions League final will be played at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
