Ugandan Captain Hassan Wasswa readies for the match

Uganda Cranes yesterday held Senegal to a goalless in their last international friendly match before they open their AFCON qualification campaign on Saturday.

The result was the second consecutive goalless draw following the same result in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Saturday at the Hawassa International Stadium.

Hassan Wasswa Mawanda was the captain of the Cranes team.

The match was played at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar, Senegal on Tuesday morning.

Uganda Cranes will remain camped in Senegal for acclimatization and training until when the team flies out to the Cape Verde Islands according to FUFA.

The two games were to prepare the Cranes for their upcoming opening Group L match against Cape Verde in Praia.

Meanwhile, before the Uganda-Senegal match a moment of silence was held for the late Ivory Coast midfielder Chieck Tiote, who collapsed during a training session on Monday afternoon and was declared dead moments later in China.
