Cristiano Ronaldo threatens to leave Real Madrid

Must read

Cristiano Ronaldo, the 31-year-old former Manchester United winger is reportedly angry at his treatment by the Spanish tax authorities and wishes to leave the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday at the Spanish prosecutor’s office in Madrid, it said Ronaldo had knowingly used a ‘business structure’ created in 2010 to hide his income in Spain from his image rights.

Ronaldo has expressed his desire to leave Real Madrid, who are “in the process of trying to calm him down so that he doesn’t leave.”

Ronaldo signed a new five-year contract last November which means he is contracted to Real Madrid until 2021.

The four time Ballon D’Or winner spent 6 years at Manchester United earlier in his career and is now one of the most successful and richest athletes on the planet after a record-breaking career at the very top level of European football.

Madrid have won three of the last four Champions Leagues and clinched their first La Liga title since 2012 this season. Things have never been better since he joined the club in 2009.

PSG and his former club Man United emerge as favorites to get the signature of the superstar.

There is also interest from China with the mid-season window there opening on Monday.
