Uganda Cranes squad for CECAFA named

Uganda Cranes interim coach Moses Basena has named a 26 man squad to start training on Wednesday ahead of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup to be hosted by Kenya.

The squad is dominated by home-based players with only one foreign based player, Juuko Murushid, who plays for Simba in Tanzania. This is to prepare them for the CHAN tournament in January next year.

Uganda are the defending champions and are placed in group B with guests Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Burundi and South Sudan.

The regional tourney kicks off on December 3 and ends on December 17 2017. The Cranes open their campaign against Zimbabwe on December 4.

Kakamega, Kisumu and Nakuru, Kasarani and Machakos are the confirmed venues for the upcoming regional tournament.
