No more sex appetite drugs as regulation body revokes license for drugs to be sold in country

The National Drug Authority (NDA) has alerted the public and revoked licences for some libido booster drugs on Ugandan market, further warning the herbalists to stop the adulteration of the drugs.

The drugs whose licences have been revoked by the NDA include; Tiger King, Libido Booster, Rocky Dr.Lee, Male Varility Enhancement Viamax Sex Coffee, Zeman sx Capsule, Manix Herbal Capsule, Vitality R, ManP, Instant Male Salute Power and Extra Power.

Others prohibited under this category are; Wake Up Man Power, Man Power2, Man Po, Heal Mr. Power Man Power Liquid, Air Force, Manpower Powder, MP Powder and KBR Powder.

“All the products were found to have been adulterated with Sildenafil, a synthetic pharmaceutical ingredient used in the formulation of prescription-only medicine for the treatment of various health conditions,” says Hellen Byomiren Ndagije, NDA’s Director of Product Safety.

She says the products “might have serious health implications such as cerebro-vascular hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain), which could leading to serious cardiovascular events, including sudden death.”

The official says her agency has put in place a monitoring mechanism to ensure that producers, distributors and marketers do not sell the products on the market.

She has appealed to the public to report dealers selling such drugs and other suspicious products which could endanger public health and safety.
