Local Governments for Sustainability and the City of Johannesburg will host an online press conference on September, 17, on the occasion of the EcoMobility World Festival 2015, the first on the African continent.
Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Parks Tau will be joined by ICLEI General Secretary Gino Van Begin, at the conference.
‘The CBD of Sandton, often referred to as Africa’s richest square mile, is one of the most congested precincts in Johannesburg. 80,000 cars and over 100,000 people move in and out of Sandton every day. The festival also includes an EcoMobility World Exhibition and a week of high-level dialogues on sustainable transport for the city of the future,’ a release by Africa Press Association, states. The second EcoMobility World Festival will showcase the future of sustainable urban living in Sandton, CBD of Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city and financial capital, on October 1-31. During the month-long event residents and visitors can enjoy a safe, healthy, low-emission and resource-efficient lifestyle.
