Dozens of city comedians who have been ‘starved’ of money following the scaling down of social happenings in Kampala are set to laugh their lungs to the bank after soft drink manufacturer Crown Beverages Limited, under its Mirinda brand, signed a multi-million sponsorship package with them.
Comedians Kapale, Mariachi, Kere Kere, Snake and Zolo, Amooti Omubalanguzi and the New Amarula Production, Madrat and Chiko, Swengere, all of who have been yawning after people toned down social outings due to the recent elections, said they will now be able to host a series of comedy shows between March 24 and 27 in Kampala, Entebbe and Mukono.
“These planned shows are a continuation of our strong commitment to the comedy industry in Uganda,” Timothy Luzinda, the Mirinda Brand Manager, said.
Guest music performances, the comedians announced, will be by Ziza Bafana, King Saha, Sheebah and Winnie Nwagi.
For some time now Crown Beverages Limited has been sponsoring most comedy nights around the country.
