Oxfam International Executive Director and opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye’s wife Winnie Byanyima has broken the internet after saying she backs President Museveni sometimes.
The former Mbarara Municipality MP during a social media interaction on Saturday tweeted, “Sometimes I have agreed with NRM policies. What’s wrong with that? I promote social justice not party interest.”
When a one Anslem Sebuguzi @ssebu7 subtweeted Ms. Byanyima’s tweet with a challenge  her loyalty to Uganda’s biggest opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) which fronted her husband Dr Besigye as their presidential candidate in the February 18 election. The tweet went viral garnering 16 retweets and 33 likes in a matter of minutes.
Ms. Byanyima is a champion of social rights, women emancipation and poverty eradication at a global level.
It should be noted that the NRM government under President Yoweri Museveni has been praised for excelling in giving equality to women socially, economically and politically having had the first female Vice President in Africa during the 1990s and a large number of female Members of Parliament.
WB. It is interesting that you put your feelings about NRA-regime in that interesting way. With a degree of certainty, you were central to the ushering and unleashing of the NRA-regime on behalf of the “people”. Of course the “people” have progressed. Congratulations.
Now for intellectual honesty, try balancing or squaring your “…interesting…” “…Agree Sometimes…” with the regression experienced by “biological substances”, a watered down version of “kipingamizis”. I suspect you will disclaim any knowledge of what that is because it does not fit your Agree Sometimes” as such it must be excluded.
