President Museveni approves promotion for 149 prisons officers

President Yoweri Museveni, acting on the advice of the Prisons Authority, has on Monday approved the promotion of 149 superior officers of the Uganda Prisons Service.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Prisons Service, and signed by the Can. Dr. Johnson O.R. Byabashaija, Commissioner General of Prisons, said the promotion takes effect from 18th March 2016.

Among the most senior, David Sekabembe Nsalasatta, Eli Muhumuza and Samuel Akena have been promoted to the rank of Director Of Prisons while those promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Prisons are Andrew Tebyasa Kisitu, Moses Wagabaza Kakungulu, David Asiimwe Ahimbisibwe, Allan Okello, Wilson Francis Magomu, Robert Munanura, John Bosco Tumwebaze, Milton Tiyo, Alfred Dakokati Okulu, Elizabeth Nanfuka, Richard Emou, Julius Aloka and Dr. George Muge.
