Mr Ideal Uganda returns for Season II

The final of the Uganda’s leading male beauty contest is upon us, and the winner of this year’s competition will fly the Uganda flag at global finals hosted in UK. The handsome thirteen who made the made it out of the auditions are all bachelors in their twenties who take looking good very seriously, with regular workout routines and enviable fitness levels.

But while there’s no doubt that our country’s final offering will be strong, competition is stiff from many of the 19 other handsome stallions for the Mister Africa International 2016 title to be held in October.

The continental edition held in January at Bespoke Centre in Lagos in Nigeria was clinched by a Ugandan model Keith Karuhuura who judges revealed was the hottest contender for the most coveted title in African male beauty from the word go.

Contenders for this year’s national title have to pass and impress during various rounds including work outs, creativity, tests both oral and written, workshops and a number of amazing activities.

Each round earns points which are added to the interview round, and along with stage presence marks all points are added together to realise a winner.

Next week from 27th to 30th, all bachelor finalists spent the weekend working in a sort of boot camp Kisubi Beach.

The event is organised by the International School of Modeling, who on Saturday unleashed their contestants on a red carpet runway at Dinners Restaurant, Ham Towers outside Makerere University.

“After a successful audition of close to 50 male models since the call for season 2 we are ready to make the ladies scream at the top of their voices with 13 finalists” said Mr. Disan Walulya the International School of Modeling marketing manager.

The second season will run under the theme “Face, Body, Brains” with the crown set for 25th June at Fair Way Hotel.

“We are hoping to witness a fun filled, more competitive and so focused season with male models competing again represent Uganda in in London, later this year in October,” Mr. Walulya added.

Mister Africa International is a male fashion competition which was founded by Ayotunde ‘Twitch’ Fabamwo in an effort to empower young Africans and raise money for charity.
