Cranes start Comoros preparations in Mbale

Milutin Sredojevic and the Uganda Cranes started preparations for their final AFCON 2017 qualifier match against Comoros Monday with the team training at the KCCA stadium in Lugogo for the upcoming Eastern Uganda regional tour.

Three foreign based players; Hassan Wasswa of Al-Shorta-Iraq, Emmanuel Okwi of SønderjyskE Denmark and Yassar Mugerwa of Orlando Pirates in South Africa  turned up for training ahead of the Eastern Uganda regional tour will take place on Saturday the 25th june, 2016 at Mbale Regional Stadium in Mbale where it will play the selected Eastern Regional Team.

According to Micho, the non-residential training will take place for the whole of this week up to Friday before the team sets off for Mbale that evening.

“The regional tour programme is an obligation to our national team sponsors. They will have us keep the players in shape ahead of the coming training sessions” Micho noted.

Denis Iguma the versatile Uganda Cranes right back is suspended for the game against Comoros due to the accumulated bookings he got against Botswana both home and away in Francistown with the possible replacements being Uganda Cup winning skipper Nicholas Wadada (Vipers) and Joseph Nsubuga(Bright Stars).

The Eastern Regional tour is scheduled to take place till Mid-July.

An International Friendly Match on the 30th August 2016 against Kenya in Kampala at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole will be the final match in the Cranes preparations calendar.
