President Museveni has today visited Entebbe MP Tumusime Rosemary’s home as she mourns her daughter.
The tragedy occurred a few meters away from where the MP was. She was heading to State House to witness the swearing-in of new ministers.
In a series of tweets, Mr. Museveni eulogised: “I have visited & condoled with the family of Hon. Rose Tumusiime, the Entebbe Municipality MP, who lost her daughter.
“Doreen Tashobya, 21, & another relative, Patrick Busingye, died yesterday in an accident involving a truck and a motorcycle, in Entebbe.
“We have lost two young people with a promising future. I pray the family finds strength in this trying time. May their souls rest in peace.
Ms. Tumusime’s daughter, Doreen Tashobya and a one Patrick Businge were on Tuesday killed in a motor accident as the two were riding on a bike to Tashobya‘s work place.
The motorcycle they were riding, Reg no. UDS 502N Bajaj boxer collided with a Isuzu Truck Reg UAP 872J that was carrying sand. The accident occurred at Muziga Park on Entebbe road.
Sadly, Tumisiime, a ruling party legislator was widowed only recently, in 2014. Her husband was the late Edward Gumizamu Tumusiime, NRM party stalwart in Entebbe, and former vice chairperson of NRM at Wakiso district.
