Aspiring Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairperson Dr Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe has today met with the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah, over her top continental job prospects.
A former Vice President of Uganda for 9 years, Dr Kazibwe is seeking to chair the AU from 2016 to 2020, and if she emerges the best candidate will replace another female, Nkosazana Zuma, a former wife to South African president Jacob Zuma.
Impeccable sources have intimated that Dr Kazibwe’s AU campaign received a 4.2 billion boost from the government.
Since inception in 2003 the AUC has had four chairpersons: Amara Essy, Alpha Omar Konare, Jean Ping and the outgoing chairperson, Nkosazana Zuma.
