Two legislators from Rakai district have lost their seats as Members of Parliament.

Earlier today, Buyamba County legislator and, National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer Mandela Amos was ejected from the August House by Masaka High Court, Judge, and Justice Lawrence Gidudu. Justice Gidudu concurred with the petitioner, Ivan Buwowe that Mr Buyamba doesn’t have the required academic papers to be a Member of Parliament.

In Jan, 2016 the Electoral Commission cleared academic papers of Amos Mandela, to contest as MP Candidate for Buyamba constituency after his opponent petitioned court alleging that he didn’t have the mandatory Advanced level certificate.
