The former Director General of Internal Security Organisation, Brig. Ronnie Balya is slated to handover office on Friday, January 27 to the incoming DG, Col. Frank Bagyenda Kaka.
Sources told EagleOnline that the ceremony is to be presided over by Security Minister Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde. Gen. Tumukunde supervisors ISO and the Col. Bagyenda will report to him as a line minister.
Bagyenda was retired at the rank of Major and was promoted to Colonel while in retirement. He participated in the 1981-86 war that brought President Museveni to power and upon capturing power, Bagyenda was posted to Military Police before he was moved to Directorate of Military Intelligence.
Bagyenda, who hails from Ibanda district, retired from the army in the mid-1990s and went into private business (tourism sector) where he runs a tourist site in Kalangala.
He is reported to be among the officers that we are sidelined (katebe) in the 1990s.
