Major (rtd) Edward Rurangaranga, the former Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister under the Obote II regime, is dead.
Rurangaranga, a prominent Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) stalwart, who hailed from Bushenyi, collapsed and died at his home.
One of the fighters in the 1979 war that ousted Idi Amin, Rurangaranga served as the first post-Amin District Commissioner of the then Rwenzori district.
