C Wyne Nalukalala takes ongoing murders in Uganda

Must read

Raised in the ghetto, singer C Wyne Nalukalala real names Alex Namugera will hardly forget his roots.

This is often seen from the lyrics of his songs – which are mainly anchored on positivity, justice and equality.

Well, the Kireka based Afropop, reggae and dancehall artiste is back with another conscious song, ‘Ettemu’.

In ‘Etemu’, Nalukalala decries the ongoing spate of murders in the districts of Wakiso, Kampala and the Greater Masaka.

Himself hailing from Buddu which is part of the Greater Masaka, says he feels hurt whenever he hears about his people being killed in cold blood.

“What hurts is that these killers even before killing the locals, they drop leaflets to their homes, warning them of an impending attack and they actually go ahead to attack and kill people using pangas and machetes,” he says.

“In instances when they don’t appear after dropping their leaflets, they apologise for failing to make it and even state reasons in addition to giving another day on which they are to attack.”

He decries security for not doing enough to curb the murders.

It ought to be remembered that last year, unknown men brutally raped and killed close to 30 women in Wakiso and Kampala in just two months.

The murderers further spread to the Greater Masaka and by the end of 2017, over 20 people had been brutally murdered. The perpetrators are still at large.
