Police in Wandegeya is investigating an incident where a man identified as Baker Kasumba was nailed with a six inch nails for wearing  a berate bearing the patriot of  President Yoweri Museveni.

Kasumba, aresident of Avis Kivulu Kawempe division was intercepted by two unknown men who hit him on the head and before nailing his palms  .

Narrating his ordeal, Kasumba, said yesterday, he left his workplace at around 1:00 pm  at Jesco adjacent to Ham shopping grounds heading home but realized that he had spent some time without visiting his mother. He decided to branch off to go and visit her.

But midway, he decided to take short route going through Kalerwe where old spare parts of vehicles are sold as he was about to reach the fly over, two men came and hit him on the head. He became unconscious and the two men grabbed him and nailed his palms with two six inch nails.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, said what helped Kasumba from being killed is when the two men  were intercepted by two ladies who was looking for their child who went missing. He said they shouted that they should leave their son alone thinking that the men are kidnapping their child.

“They decided to run away when the alleged women reached the scene of crime, they made alarm and Kibe/Kalerwe police responded and rushed him to Mulago hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. Police noted that the victim is out of danger.” Onyango said in a statement.

Kasumba also revealed that a man on Sunday August 25, 2019 approached him at his place of work and confronted warning him to desist from supporting NRM and President Yoweri Museveni.

“This was planned and an organised crime. The attackers are alleged to have trailed him all the way from his work place. This kind of political violence should not be allowed in Uganda and this is not a good political strategy to whoever is using it. We shall not allow this political intimidation and whoever is using it should desist from using it.” Onyango added

He condemned the attack in the strongest term it deserves and said Uganda is a free country where everyone is allowed to express his or her political affiliation the way they want.
