RIP: Gen. Ggwanga

A section of the bush war heroes have praised the late Maj. Gen. Kasirye Ggwanga for being courageous and a man of action who positively responded to duty when called upon.

Presidential hopeful and former Security Minister Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde in a tweet described late Maj.Gen. Ggwanga as a great Ugandan who was a fighter.
“I have just received the news of the death of Gen. Kasirye Ggwanga. Gen. Ggwanga was a great fighter, a great Ugandan and a great veteran. Allow me pass my condolences to his children, wife and off course the UPDF fraternity. May his soul rest in internal peace” Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde posted.

In a telephone interview with Eagle Online the Minister of East African Affairs, retired Major General Kahinda Otafiire described the late Ggwanga as a courageous man who made decision with a clear distinction. He said Gen. Otafiire said Gen. Ggwanga’s significance can be seen in the history he played in liberating Uganda.

“He was a courageous man, a man of conviction. He made decisions with what he thought was correct” Gen. Kahinda Otafiire said.
On his part, First son and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, Lt. Gen. Kainerugaba Muhoozi described Ggwanga as a great soldier. Gen. Muhoozi posted on his handle how he had recently spoken with the controversial army general.

“Very, very sad to hear about the passing of a great soldier and a good friend, General Kasirye Gwanga. We just spoke weeks ago and he was in a jolly mood. Rest in peace General” Gen.Muhoozi posted.
Gen. Ggwanga died this morning at Nakasero Hospital where has been admitted for two weeks in Intensive Care Unit.
