As the general elections draw closer, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has eased on the process of verification of academic papers for the aspiring candidates.
As communicated before, any aspiring candidate had to obtain an introductory letter from the respective school(s) and submit copies of the certificates to be verified along with a copy of the National ID card.
But now, aspiring candidates who have their original Advanced Level Certificate will not need to verify with UNEB. However in case of those who may have lost their documents, UNEB will issue Letters of verification upon application by the applicant. Applications shall remain to be submitted online.
With regards to a candidate wishing to equate qualifications obtained from Uganda or outside to the level of Advanced Certificate, the person shall equate his qualifications through the production of a certificate issued to them by the National Council for Higher Education in consultation with UNEB.
Over the years, several MPs have been thrown out of Parliament over insufficient academic qualifications and fake documents.
