Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) President Eng. Moses Hashim Magogo has picked nomination forms at NRM party headquarters, Kyadondo Road, to contest for the parliamentary seat of Budiope East Constituency come 2021.
Magogo will face competition from Geofrey Dhamuzungu who is the current Budiope East Member of Parliament.
After declaring last year that he will contest, Magogo’s determination is to add to other sports voices in parliament to develop the sports sector in the country.
Magogo visited Budiope last year upon being elected on the Caf executive committee and was congratulated by the residents where he declared his decision to contest. He has been FUFA president for seven years, in now his second four-year term.
During his reign the Cranes qualified for the Africa Nations Cup for the first time in 39 years and followed it up with a second straight Afcon appearance where they made it to the round of 16 for the first time since 1978. They also won the 2019 CECAFA tournament in Kampala.
The NRM road map indicates that between today and tomorrow, Members will express interest by picking nomination forms for Woman MPs, directly elected MPs, LC 5 chairpersons, and city mayors.
