Security agencies plan to abduct me ahead of nominations – Bobi Wine

Must read

The President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has revealed that security agencies have plans of abducting or arresting him ahead of his nomination as presidential candidate.

Bobi Wine will be nominated tomorrow, days after he was cleared and verified by the Electoral Commission.

Speaking earlier at NUP offices, Bobi Wine said; “I have got intelligence information from my friends indicating that security agencies have plans of either arresting or abducting me with a motive of stopping me from being nominated. This will not stop us from ending the 35 years despot Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa.”

“My home is my safest place, I will not leave my family for mare threats of abducting me. I will leave with my wife and few colleagues as guided by police through Kyanja-Ntinda-Nakawa to Kyambogo University,” he said.

“I am ready to take on the responsibility of representing the forces of change and this generation and the journey towards change begins tomorrow,” he added.

Upon nomination, Kyagulanyi said he will be unveiling his manifesto at NUP officers and encouraged Party supporters to preach the gospel towards changing the leadership.

“There have been intimidations and switching off power as we speak to the people of Uganda but Museveni and his decadent regime will not stop us. Charge your phones and power banks and use all possible means to watch us because they are planning to switch off the internet,” he said.

The party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi said they expect police to accord them security as it was provided to President Museveni’s processions after nominations. Museveni was nominated earlier today after meeting all required criteria set by the electoral commission.
