The head of National Unity Platforum Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine’s Private security team, Edward Sebuufu aka Edie Mutwe, singer Buken Ali aka Nubian Li and 97 others are set to appear before Masaka Magistrate’s Court.
The revelation has been made by the police Spokesperson Fred Enanga. According to Enanga a total of 126 people were arrested last week in Kalangala District where National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Bobi Wine had gone to campaign.
He said the 25 other NUP members will appear before Kalangala Magistrates Court. The group is leveled with charges of assault of police officers, doing a negligent act likely to spread COVID-19, inciting violence, among others.
“We continue to enforce the Electoral Commission and Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures aimed at curbing the spread of #Covid-19. People’s health remains our priority,” he said
Since the kick off of presidential campaigns earlier in November, scores of NUP supporters and Mr Kyagulanyi have been arrested, charged and remanded for inciting violence, acts likely to spread #Covid-19 and other charges.
