FIFA has announced the latest rankings with Uganda Cranes dropping by one slot to position 84.

The Cranes remain 17th in Africa and the drop comes after failing to qualify for Africa Cup of Nations. They drew 0-0 against Burkina Faso and lost 1-0 to Malawi in the final two qualifiers played last month.

Uganda’s opponents in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers; Mali, are in 57th position while Kenya Harambee Stars and Rwanda are 102nd and 129th respectively.

The top five countries in Africa are; Senegal (22), Tunisia (26), Nigeria (32), Algeria (33) and Morocco (34).

Belgium, France, Brazil, England, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Uruguay, and Denmark are the top ten in the world in that order.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on 27 May 2021.
