Ssewanyana to stand for FUFA president

Makindye West Member of Parliament Allan Ssewanyana has today declared his intention to become the next Federation of Uganda Football Association-FUFA President.

The renown MP made his announcement official on Monday at his offices in Makindye.

“I am presenting myself as a candidate for the position of FUFA President at the next General Assembly,” Ssewanyana announced.

“We must make football an enjoyable environment for every stakeholder including myself, players, investors, coaches, sponsors, media and fans,” he added.

The shadow Sports Minister and Katwe United football club president’s announcement comes in the wake of Moses Magogo’s confirmation to return for the seat.

Magogo’s current tenure expires on August 31, 2021 and will be looking for a third term having been voted unopposed in 2013 and 2017.

Mujib Kasule is expected to announce his bid for the FUFA seat tomorrow on Tuesday.
