The New Vision board that met yesterday has announced the appointment of Senior Presidential Press Secretary Don Wanyama as Group’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Wanyama was seconded to the job by President Yoweri Museveni who nominated him to replace Robert Kabushenga.
Kabushenga ‘opted’ for an early retirement though other sources say he was sacked last year by the board.
Mr. Wanyama has previously worked for New Vision as a Senior Sub-Editor before he moved to Daily Monitor as the paper’s Chief Sub-Editor. Wanyama was subsequently ‘restructured’ at Daily Monitor before President Museveni appointed him as Commission Assistant in the Office of National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman.
Wanyama was appointed to Senior Presidential Press Secretary to the president in 2016 after polls. He is credited with smooth relations the presidency enjoys.
