Soltilo Bright Stars Coach Baker Mbowa and striker Samuel Ssekamatte have been crowned the Uganda Premier League coach and player for the month of April 2021 respectively.

Ssekamatte beat Police FC striker Ben Ocen after netting six goals in April while Mbowa edged Vipers SC manager Fred Kajoba.

Bright Stars played six games in April, winning five and drawn the other. They scored 13 goals and conceded just four.

Both Ssekamatte and Mbowa were crowned on Monday morning in an event at Kati Kati restaurant where they walked away with a reward of one million Ugandan shillings each.

Pilsner Lager entered into a partnership with the Uganda Premier League to award the competition’s best players and coaches.

The awards are named ‘Pilsner man of the match award’ and the monthly awards named ‘Pilsner player of the month award’ and ‘Pilsner coach of the month award’.

The Pilsner man of the match walks away with one hundred thousand shillings (Ugx 100,000) after every match while monthly winners one million shillings each.
