Express FC forward Erick Kambale and head coach Wasswa Bbosa have been named the Uganda Premier League player and coach respectively for the month of May 2021.
Kambale managed to score eight goals in the five league games edging URA FC’s Steven Mukwala and Wakiso Giants’ Vianney Ssekajugo to the accolade.
Wasswa Bbosa picked up five league wins in May edging Wakiso Giants’ Douglas Bamweyana and URA FC’s Sam Ssimbwa. Express won all their five games in the month.
The duo were rewarded at a ceremony that took place at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala on Monday, a day before the league action resumes after the International break.
They were rewarded one million Ugandan shillings each.
Express currently sit at the top of the Uganda Premier league table with four games left to play, one point ahead of second-placed URA.
Pilsner Lager entered into a partnership with the Uganda Premier League to award the competition’s best players and coaches.
The awards are named ‘Pilsner man of the match award’ and the monthly awards named ‘Pilsner player of the month award’ and ‘Pilsner coach of the month award’.
The Pilsner man of the match walks away with one hundred thousand shillings (Ugx 100,000) after every match while monthly winners one million shillings each.
