GOTV unveiled as She Cranes official kits sponsor

The Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) has unveiled GOTV Uganda as the national team, She Cranes official kits sponsor.

The two-year deal which stands at Shs 81.6 million was announced at the Old Kampala Sports Arena with a friendly match that saw the ladies compete amongst themselves, ending in 04-00 score.

The sponsorship will cover travel expenses for the team as well as kits for all SHE Cranes Netball players ahead of the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, United Kingdom come July this year.

UNF President Hon. Babirye Kityo Sarah said that this is what they have been yearning to do since they came into power in June last year and thanked GOTV for choosing Netball among the many sports in the country.

“I am super excited, it’s such a blessed day, as you know we didn’t have any sponsor, them coming on board and chosing us is very important and a great honor, we are not to disappoint them, we are going to use this sponsorship to identify talents, we are going to move with She Cranes and the male team to different regions, holding tournaments of all levels to keep on identifying more talents,” Babirye Kityo said.

Joan Ssemanda Kizza, the Public Relations Officer for Multi Choice Uganda revealed why they chose She Cranes and how worth is the deal.

“The Sponsorship we announced today goes towards their kits as well as towards the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, they reached us and said that in their preparations for Commonwealth Games, they are going to have regional tours, and a number of games in which she Cranes will be kitted,” she said.

“We are looking at two years but mostly this time period we are on commonwealth games, after the commonwealth games, next year will have a discussion to renew the partnership.”

The sponsorship deal will help the team in preparations for tournaments like the Australian Netball Championship, US Open Netball Championship, SHE cranes regional tours, Scotland Friendly Game, Fast 5 tournament (New Zealand) and the World Cup 2023.
