Police detectives are searching the home of the former Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Dorothy Kisaka, in Kyanja.
The search is part of the ongoing investigations following the collapse of Kitezi Landfill, which killed over 30 people in August.
Kisaka, her Deputy Executive Director David Luyimbazi, and former Director of Public Health and Environment, Dr. Daniel Okello, were nabbed and detained following police summonses that were issued last week. Their arrest and detention were confirmed by Kituma Rusoke Police Spokesperson.
“As we communicated on Monday, October 14, 2024, that we had summoned former Deputy Executive Director David Luyimbazi and former Director of Public Health and Environment, Dr. Daniel Okello,” Rusoke stated on his X (formerly Twitter).
Last month, President Yoweri Museveni sacked three top officials following the IGG report on the Kiteezi landfill disaster.
According to a statement released by the Office of the President Press Unit, Museveni was acting on the report released by the Inspector General of Government (IGG), noting that the report clearly outlined severe oversight and negligence.
According to a source, the three were meant to appear before court later today. This publication learnt that a search has not been done at the Eng Luyimbazi’s in Munyoonyo.
