Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti has been reported Chairman of the UPDF General Court Martial by the Force’s High Command.
Gen. Gutti’s first task will be to try former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura. Government had delayed to parade Kayihura before Court Martial as its mandate had expired.
General Gutti’s term had ended, having been appointed to that position in 2016 following the death of Maj. Gen. Levy Karuhanga.
“Congratulations to Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti and team for being reappointed by the High Command to the UPDF General Court Martial,” said UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire.
Gen. Gutti’s reappointment comes at the time when the members of the public are contemplating whether former Inspector of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura, alongside other police officers who recently captured by the CMI will be charged in the UPDF General Court Martial.
