The Central Motor Club (CMC), one of the clubs under Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda – FMU, over the weekend elected its new leadership during their annual general meeting at Kabira country club.
Rajiv Ruparelia was elected as the new chairperson board of trustees while Shaym Kotecha is the new club chairperson and will be deputized by Kaketto sayid.
CMC decided to plan for the life after the lockdown by fundraising for the necessary resources that shall support the smooth running of the club activities on the annual FMU calendar.
During the meeting, a total of 102 million was raised by CMC members to support the activities of the club.
Other members on the board of trustees include Christakis Fitidis as vice chairperson, Nelson Walusimbi in the capacity of treasurer among others.
Only two events were completed on the FMU calendar by closure of business with preparations of the Masaka Rally in high gear.
MotorSport is one of the sports that is listed as one of the low-risk sports and the federation is plotting for a possible return before the end of this year.
The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of Uganda (FMU) earlier in July presented standard operating procedures to the National Council of Sports hoping for the green light to resume activities.
