President Yoweri Museveni has been nominated for the 6th term as a presidential candidate for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in the 2021 general elections.
Museveni who was accompanied by his wife, also Minister for Education and Sports, party First National Vice Chairperson, Moses Kigongo, Secretary General Justine Lumumba among others.
Museveni was received at Kyambogo by Electoral Commission Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama and his team.
” I hereby declare that Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta a duly nominated candidate in respect to the Presidential Election 2021 having fulfilled requirements as per Presidential Elections Act as amended” Justice Byabakama said.
Shortly after nominations, Museveni warned his opponents in the race against intimidation warning that nobody will destabilize the country.
