Uganda Airlines has announced regular flights between Entebbe and Johannesburg. The flights take effect from 31st May, 2021.
According to a statement released by the Airliner, the flights are expected to usher a great new experience of convenient and affordable travel between Uganda and South Africa, and the wider African regional network.
“This new route launch offers the best solution for all travelers with the only non-stop scheduled service between Entebbe to Johannesburg, reduced journey time, more flight frequencies, and superior onboard service filled with the legendary Ugandan hospitality, and the most competitive fares on the market,” the Airline said.
“Beyond the main hubs at Entebbe and Johannesburg, this service will also enhance connectivity to and from the airlines’ current network which includes Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kinshasa, Juba, Mogadishu, Bujumbura, Zanzibar, Mombasa and Kilimanjaro.”
The airliner is in the final stages to introduce direct flights to London, Dubai, Guangzhou and Mumbai, from Entebbe International Airport. It is currently operating in over 10 countries all over the world.
Established in May 1976, Uganda Airlines, started operations in 1977 and was liquidated in May 2001 after efforts to privatize the company failed due to massive debts it had incurred.
Its revival now means Uganda Airlines competes with Africa’s best such as South Africa Airways, Ethiopian Airways, Kenya Airways, RwandAir and others on the continent, not forgetting International ones such as Emirates Airways, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airways among others that land at Entebbe International Airport.
