The gaming industry in sub-Saharan Africa is expected to see significant growth until 2024, when it will generate more than $1 billion in revenue, according to recent data. While economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa has slowed due to inflation, difficult financial conditions, and high debt levels, the gaming industry is generating significant revenues. World Bank data shows that economic growth in the region is expected to fall from 4.1% in 2021 to 3.6% in 2022 and is forecast to fall even further to 3.1% in 2023.
However, despite these economic challenges, the gaming market in Africa is showing growth. According to Newzoo, video game sales in the region will reach $862.8 million in 2022, an 8.7% increase from the previous year.
