The Parliament of Uganda has been in existence since 1962, shortly before the country attained Independence. The most important role of the Parliament is to enact laws that foster good governance.
The Parliament also plays an oversight role on the Executive. However, most Ugandans have still failed to understand the roles of the Members of Parliament (MPs), with many soliciting for financial or material favours.
