While on international duty – after a 2-2 draw with Colombia – Costa claimed: “Antonio Conte has told me by message that I will not continue with Chelsea and that’s it.
Costa aged 28, scored 20 goals in 35 league appearances in their title-winning campaign last season. He has won two premier league titles and one league cup since he joined in July 2014.
Costa striker wants to return to his former side Atletico Madrid where he played between 2010-2014.even though it means sitting out the first half of the season because they are on a transfer ban.
The former Atletico Madrid striker is likely to be replaced in the Chelsea squad by Romelu Lukaku, with the club having been locked in talks for the Everton striker ever since the season ended, and they are hopeful of concluding a deal shortly for around £90m.
