Uganda’s Military Attache to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Brigadier Geoffrey ‘Taban’ Kyabihende is dead.
Sources said Brig. Kyabihende, RO0094, a former Division 3 Commander in Mbale, passed on at Nakasero Hospital this afternoon.
Aged 56, Brig. Taban joined the National Resistance Army (NRA) in the early eighties and was among the first escorts of President Yoweri Museveni.
“The Lord has called him; he has left us and for burial arrangements the family and the army leadership is going to make arrangements and issue a statement,” army spokesman Brig. Richard Karemire said on phone.
On his part, Special Presidential Advisor Major General Muhoozi Kainerugaba said the army had lost a dedicated commander.
“Very sad to hear the passing of our comrade Brig. Taban Kyabihende, we shall miss his dedication and energy. May he rest in peace,” Maj. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba wrote.
