Remember Luwum through actions- Mugisha Muntu

Must read

Former Forum for Democratic Change party president Gen. Mugisha Muntu has asked Ugandans remember the late Archbishop Janan Luwum through action by stand up for truth and justice.
Writing on his Facebook page, Gen. Muntu said the late Janani Luwum stood for justice and the belief that all God’s children are equal and all lives mattered.
Gen. Muntu said the Archbishop Luwum was a man like any other at a time when evil seemed to prevail, he stood firmly on the side of justice, even when it cost his life.
‘’Sometimes in life, we are faced with the choice of sitting back and allowing evil to prevail, or standing up for what we believe, Our choice in that moment could be the difference between the life and death, success and failure,” he wrote on social media.
He noted that due to his courage, out of the darkness of his death, there came the light of Ugandans who fought against Amin’s dictatorship and adding that, “as we celebrate this man of faith, we are duty bound to follow in his footsteps as the best way to honor him.”
The late Janani Jakaliya Luwumu was archbishop of the Church of Uganda from 1974 to 1977 and one of the most influential leaders of the modern church in Africa, arrested in February 1977 and died shortly after in what was termed to be a motor accident.
