A group of people claiming to work for a neighbouring government are trailing some Ugandan journalists, threatening them with arrest.
Last night a mid-aged man claiming he is called ‘Thomson Kayila’, accosted a local journalist at a hang-out joint in Nakawa Division, telling the latter that he ‘supports’ dissidents from the neighbouring country, and that he is ‘wanted’.
The man claimed he was working in cahoots with several others to arrest the journo, prompting the latter to seek the intervention of management at the hang-out joint, and a case vide SD: RBF 03/21/02/2018 was reported at a police station in the area.
This development comes at a time when some journalists are living in fear after a couple of them being arrested.
