Barbara Alimadi, the Secretary for International Affairs in the Alliance for National Transformation is dead.
The daughter to former Ugandan Prime Minister under President Milton Obote second reign Eriphas Otema Allimadi. According to sources, she was found dead in her house in Kira Municipality.
Ms Alimadi championed democracy, human rights and she was always at the forefront of the struggle. She is remembered to have led the ‘Bra protests in 2012 in Kampala that ended up the central police station. The demonstration was against the continued harassing of women activists.
