Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) FC were relegated from the Uganda Premier League after one to the FUFA Big League on Tuesday following a heavy 6-1 loss at home to BUL FC.
Joseph Semujju bagged a brace while Simon Oketch, Ibrahim Mugulusi, Musa Esenu and Deogratius Ojok scored the goals for BUL. The hosts’ consolation came from Rashid Mpata before half time.
MYDA join Kitara FC as the two teams that have been confirmed relegated.
With 14 points and only nine points to fight for, MYDA are 12 points behind safety. Bul’s win lifts them to 33 points but stay 11th on the 16-team table.
Other teams embroiled in the relegation fight at the moment include; Onduparaka, Busoga United and Kyetume.
Tooro United FC and Arua Hill Sports are so far the two clubs that have been promoted to the next season’s Uganda Premier League season.
The third club to join them in next season’s top flight league will be determined through a promotional play off involving four clubs; Gaddafi, Blacks Power, Proline FC and Nyamityobora.
