The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) has announced that President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni will resume his performance assessment tour of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in Eastern Uganda.
This tour is scheduled to begin on November 6, 2024, starting with the Bukedi Sub-Region.
The tour is part of the President’s ongoing efforts to assess the implementation and impact of the PDM across the country. During this visit, Museveni is expected to engage with various stakeholders, including local leaders, technical staff, and the general public. He will address public rallies at selected venues in each district to gather feedback and discuss the program’s progress.
“During the tour, H.E the President will meet various stakeholders including leaders, technical staff and address public rallies at various venues in the respective districts,” PPU statement read in part.
The PDM is a key initiative aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of Ugandans, particularly those in rural areas, through targeted development interventions. This tour is seen as an essential part of ensuring accountability and transparency in the program’s execution.
Museveni started these tours last year in the areas of the Acholi, West Nile, and Greater Masaka sub-regions for the same purpose.
