Eagleonline has learnt that NTV Uganda senior news reporters, Maurice Ochol and Solomon Sserwanja are set to join Kira Road based fast growing television station, NBS owned by Kin Kariisa [former State House employee].
From the production department, Chrismel Wassawa, the head of news production and quality control at the Serena based TV station and the station’s billed as “the best” cameraman Goefrey Badebye are also set to officially resign and join NBS TV.
Impeccable sources tip this website that Aggie Konde, the Managing Director of the station flew to Nairobi to convince the Nation Media Group Board of Directors to increase these employees salaries, that would perhaps lure them to stay. “She returned this afternoon from Nairobi and called for a closed meeting with the reporters informing them of a possible salary increment in the first quarter of next year,” a source told this website adding that the employees above are hellbent on leaving the Serena based station for “greener pastures.”
NBS TV has of late tightened the grip broadcasting live coverage of political and social events.
