President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Al Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala as Senior Presidential Advisor on Investment Promotion.
According to sources, Mr Museveni has written to the Ministry of Public Service, detailing Mr Ssebagala’s new assignment, which the appointee has accepted.
“In politics there are no permanent friends or enemies,” Mr Ssebagala said when asked about his ‘return’ to Mr Museveni’s ‘inner circle’.
Commonly known as ‘Seya’, Mr Ssebagala, an on-and-off ally of the president is bouncing back for the second time, after quitting his earlier assignment in the presidency in January 2015 citing ‘difficulties’ in working with or seeing Mr Museveni.
He was also a member of the Museveni re-election campaign in 2011, an assignment he also abandoned last year.
Meanwhile, Ssebagala has expressed contentment at the way police has been beating civilians, saying the victims were disrupting business in the city and its outskirts.
