Renowned city hangout joint, Club Silk is finally no more.
After struggling for several years, the owners of once of the biggest hangout joints in Kampala have decided to sell it off.
The property housing the club in Industrial Area has been sold off to their neighbours, Vision Group. We are yet to confirm the amount of money that was paid to Gordon Wavamuno’s son, Elvis Ssekyanzi for the club but what we can confirm is, Vision Group bought the property and Club Silk is left with only a few months to vacate the property.
The news of the acquisition of the club was revealed to the Vision Group employees by their boss, Robert Kabushenga, who said they are to use the building for their expansion.
Ssekyanzi is now left with only one club, Silk Liquid Bugolobi. It’s not clear at the moment whether he is likely to shift the club to a new location or whether he is to merge it with Silk Liquid.
Just like many city businessmen, Ssekyanzi was among the businessmen that requested for bailout from government.
