South Africa-based Ugandan socialite, ‘Meddy Kingdom’, was recently arrested over human trafficking. He is accused of trafficking youths to South Africa under the guise of getting them jobs.
According to sources, many of Kingdom’s ‘victims’ got to know him after watching him on a music show on NTV. However, the station has come out to explain why the showy businessman was hosted on the station.
Speaking to Eagleonline, Miles Rwamiti, the NTV presenter currently managing music at Spark TV, said Meddy Kingdom was hosted on the station as a motivational speaker and not as an employer, given his success in different fields.
Apparently, all he did during the show was that he gave motivational speeches. However, after the show, some youths started reaching out to him, asking for jobs and that’s how they ended up in South Africa.
