All providers of commercial accommodation in Kampala City are to be registered between December and January next year.
The exercise in Centrtal Nakawa, Makindye, Kawempe and Lubaga divisions is to be jointly carried out by the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), a release tagged ‘Registration of Accommodation Facilities in Kampala’, states in part.
‘The objective of this exercise is to compile comprehensive and accurate data to guide the planning process mostly in the areas of marketing, promotion and training,’ the release by UTB adds.
According to the release, ‘The Tourism Act 2008 mandates Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) to regulate the tourism industry in Uganda through, among others, registering tourism enterprises in Uganda’.
